Cuppa Concerts: Live

Join musicians from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra for this series of live concerts especially created for older people, including those living with dementia, and their friends, family and carers.

Cuppa Concerts: Live is a series of small-ensemble concerts, specially programmed and performed by CBSO musicians for older audiences, delivered live at the CBSO Centre in central Birmingham.

These relaxed concerts are designed to make audiences feel comfortable and at ease – we have break-out spaces available, and you are welcome to come and go as you please, as well as dance during the concert!

We also place an emphasis on interaction and socialisation during the concert, to help audiences engage with the music, performers, and those around them. We are happy for audience members to chat to one another, and we feature sing- and play-along sections, providing a range of percussion instruments for audiences to enjoy. We also keep the hall well-lit during the concert, rather than dimming the auditorium lights.

After the concert, we host a tea-party with hot drinks and cakes, which are included in the ticket price. This is also an opportunity to chat with fellow audience members, and the performers who would be more than happy to answer any questions you have!

These concerts are currently on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
If you would like to be contacted when these concerts re-launch, please email Adele on education@cbso.co.uk or call on 0121 616 6530.
