New for 2019, KS1 concerts are specially designed to appeal to some of our youngest audience members, featuring a small ensemble of CBSO musicians in the wonderful setting of the CBSO Centre.
Each concert has a theme providing a clear structure for children, and the performances incorporate music and stories relating to the chosen theme. The aim of these concerts is to inspire our young audiences and provide them with the opportunity to experience orchestral music in an exciting and engaging environment.
KS1 Concerts are interactive musical experiences, devised and presented by an experienced CBSO musician and creative practitioner. Their engaging and enthusiastic presentation style draws the young audience into the concert, helping them to become part of the performance through dance, games and carefully selected music.
In 2019 the CBSO is presenting The Magical Ballerina. There’s a ballerina hiding at CBSO Centre – the only problem is, how to make her appear? In this enchanting, interactive fusion of live music and dance, specially devised by Claire Henry for Key Stage 1, presenter Jane Wright and a group of CBSO string players need your help (plus the music of Tchaikovsky) to make the magic happen…
Concerts take place at the CBSO Centre on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 March 2019. Tickets for KS1 concerts are priced at £6 per person, with 2 free tickets for organisers of groups of 20+. There is a £3 transaction fee per booking. To book tickets for our forthcoming KS1 concerts in March please contact the Symphony Hall Box Office Group Bookings team on 0800 358 7070.
