This project, new for 2017, provides pupils with an interactive storytelling adventure filled with evocative music, visual props and sensory experiences.
Pupils will be taken on a journey by CBSO cellist Jackie Tyler and professional storyteller Pyn Stockman, who will explore the exotic world of Arabia inspired by the stories and music of Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
Scheherazade is based on One Thousand and One Nights (sometimes known as The Arabian Nights), and links with the Key Stage 1 curriculum of Traditional Tales. It has been transcribed by Pyn Stockman to be an engaging and appropriate presentation for our youngest participants.
Throughout the workshop pupils will experience a lively storytelling performance and have opportunities to develop their own creativity through music and drama activities. Jackie and Pyn will also provide teaching resources following the session.
This project is tailored for Key Stage 1 pupils and can accommodate 2 classes up to 60 children over a morning or afternoon. A Scheherazade workshop costs £300, to book your visit or for more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0121 616 6522
