Birds singing, streams flowing, summer sunshine and a distant rumble of thunder – Beethoven’s Pastoral symphony is the sound of a genius relaxing amidst nature, and with Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla conducting, it’ll refresh your spirit. Mirga begins with a personal favourite – Mozart’s Magic Flute overture – and welcomes remarkable Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz, to bask in the romantic moonlight of Chopin’s dreamy Second Piano Concerto.
CBSO+ 1pm: CBSO violinist David Gregory joins two of his colleagues to walk us through the musical landscape of Beethoven’s Pastoral symphony.
