- Beethoven Symphony No. 6 (Pastoral), 40′
Beethoven's Pastoral with Mirga on 30 November is now sold out
Don't worry though, the same symphony is part of a different programme on 16 November with the brilliant violinist Vilde Frang, performing Elgar's Violin Concerto.
Please see below for more detail.
Birds singing, streams flowing, summer sunshine and a distant rumble of thunder – Beethoven’s Pastoral symphony is the sound of a genius relaxing amidst nature, and with Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla conducting, it’ll refresh your spirit. Mirga begins with a personal favourite – Mozart’s Magic Flute overture – and welcomes remarkable Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz, to bask in the romantic moonlight of Chopin’s dreamy Second Piano Concerto.
CBSO+ 1pm: CBSO violinist David Gregory joins two of his colleagues to walk us through the musical landscape of Beethoven’s Pastoral symphony.
