Benjamin Grosvenor’s playing has been called “a kind of miracle”, and last time he performed with the CBSO, this 27-year old British pianist held Symphony Hall spellbound. Together with an old friend of the CBSO, Jonathan Bloxham, he provides the glowing heart of a concert that begins with Dvořák’s exuberant Carnival overture and ends with Beethoven at his maddest, his boldest and his most gloriously untamed – in other words, at his very best.
