A concert for nature- and music- lovers alike – this evening promises to be a real treat for the imagination.
“I grew up with the idea that playing the violin was about being spontaneous” says Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto, and today, he flies with the most natural musicians of all: the birds. You’ll be wowed by the beautiful flight of Vaughan Williams’ beloved Lark Ascending, Sibelius' mythical swan, Andrea Tarrodi’s multicoloured plumage and Rautavaara’s arctic seabirds – it’s a spectacular dawn chorus, as Kuusisto picks up his violin and lets the imagination take wing.
