There’s a reason why Nicola Benedetti is the nation’s favourite violinist – and when she teams up with cellist Leonard Elschenbroich in Brahms’s ardent Double Concerto, you just know that things are about to get emotional. That’s the glowing heart to a whole evening of Brahms at his most tuneful, colourful and sincere, conducted with love by one of his finest young interpreters: Birmingham’s own Alpesh Chauhan.
