- Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2, 50′
- Tchaikovsky The Nutcracker: Act I, 45′
The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Waltz of the Flowers… everyone loves The Nutcracker. But there’s much more to enjoy than just the famous bits, and tonight Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla presents a whole musical selection box full of fantasy, colour and irresistible tunes. First, though, she teams up with a true keyboard legend – Rudolf Buchbinder – in Brahms’s sweetest and sunniest piano concerto.
CBSO+ post-concert: A sharing performance from All Kinds of Everything, a CBSO Learning & Participation project. Seven schools will share soundscapes they created with CBSO musicians and composer Richard Barnard based on their surrounding area and places of note in their locality. The pupils themselves will perform alongside a 7-piece CBSO ensemble.
For events sold by THSH Box Office, the THSH per-ticket commission of £3 (£2.50 for online bookings) is included in the price of every individual ticket priced over £13. Tickets purchased as part of a CBSO Concert Package are exempt. For full details see cbso.co.uk/terms.
