“Then let the trumpets sound / The tucket sonance and the note to mount”. Shakespeare and brass music simply belong together, and today the CBSO brass section sounds a rousing all-British fanfare to the Bard. There’s Britten, Bliss, Herbert Howells, and – of course - excerpts from William Walton’s score for Henry V: music to stiffen the sinews and summon up the blood!
