Back in the Classical era, they didn’t have stereo systems – they had wind ensembles instead, and even the greatest composers excelled at writing music for wind instruments that was colourful, ear-catching and out to entertain. Beethoven was no exception, and today the CBSO’s wind section plays two of his happiest masterpieces, as well as a magical homage to Mozart by Jonathan Dove. 

Performance durations vary, but are usually less than 1 hour.
A selection of delicious cakes and hot drinks will be available to buy up to an hour before the performances.
