Karen O’Connor BSc (Hons) Psychol. GNRCM PPRNCM ARCM and CBSO Principal Second Oboe from 1985 to 2011

Karen passed away aged just 60 on 21 June 2016, in St Mary’s Hospice, Selly Park, Birmingham. To celebrate her life both as an oboist of distinction, and latterly as a Performance Coach, her husband Christopher Clift is organising a concert, featuring players, music, and recordings which had a particular resonance for Karen during her life.

We are extremely fortunate to have secured the services of many former and present CBSO colleagues, as well as students and tutorial staff from Birmingham Conservatoire, who are all donating their time and expertise for this concert, which will benefit the Hospice where Karen passed her last few days in June of this year.

For events sold by THSH Box Office, the THSH per-ticket commission of £3 (£2.50 for online bookings) is included in the price of every individual ticket priced over £13. Tickets purchased as part of a CBSO Concert Package are exempt. For full details see
