Cinderella.

Programme

  • Brahms  Piano Concerto No. 2 50′
  • Prokofiev  Cinderella - Highlights 43′

Two great composers; two magical tales. From tender opening to exuberant finish, you’ll never take a happier journey in the company of a grand piano than Brahms’s Second Piano Concerto, and pianist Martin Helmchen will drench it with poetry. As for Prokofiev’s enchanting, tongue-in-cheek take on the story of Cinderella – well, let’s just say that with Bolshoi veteran Alexander Vedernikov conducting, you really shall go to the ball!

The concert on 7 December will be recorded by BBC Radio 3 for broadcast on 8 December 2017.
