Edgard Varèse called himself “the first composer to explore musical outer space”. For Claude Debussy, meanwhile, the only rule that mattered was “my pleasure”. But from the sirens and screeches of urban America to the shimmering fragrance of the Spanish twilight, both of these great French composers created unforgettable new realms of sound. In this brilliantly-conceived concert, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla makes worlds collide.
