Mirga Conducts Mahlers Second.

  • Mahler Symphony No. 2 (Resurrection) 87′

Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony starts with a funeral march, and finishes with the end of the world itself. And if that sounds spectacular, just wait till you hear Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, a supersized CBSO and the massed voices of the CBSO Chorus committing, body and soul, to some of the most heart-lifting music ever composed, in one of the CBSO’s real “signature” works.

CBSO+ 13 June, 6.15pm: Music writer and Austrophile Gavin Plumley introduces Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 also known as the Resurrection Symphony
