Graceful, sweeping melodies and energy-filled dances, this concert has it all.

There are some pieces of music that sound like they’ve been taken straight out of a film, and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto is one of them! It probably helps that it has actually been used in plenty of movies – but the graceful melodies and sweeping orchestral parts definitely conjure up scenes of romance. On the flip side, we have two high-octane, energy-filled “dances” by Rachmaninoff and Adams that offer lots of excitement. If you’re a sucker for an epic film score, then this is the concert for you!

WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS BEFORE?

A clear favourite among film directors, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto has been used in lots of films including The King’s Speech, 27 Dresses and Out of Africa – interestingly, the orchestral sections are often more popular than the clarinet part!
