  • Beethoven String Trio in C minor, Op. 9 no 3
  • Mozart Horn Quintet

Mozart liked to banter with his friend, the horn player Joseph Leutgeb – but that didn’t stop him writing a Horn Quintet that combines knockabout humour with real poetry. The CBSO’s Michael Kidd leads the fun today; first, though, a close encounter with a headstrong young genius called Beethoven – and some of the most gripping music ever written for three string players.
