Poulenc Sextet.

Programme

  • Poulenc Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano
  • Poulenc Sextet for Wind Quintet and Piano

Celebrated French composer Francis Poulenc was once described by the music critic Claude Rostand as 'a lover of life, mischievous…melancholy and serenely mystical'. In this performance, members of the CBSO Wind section are joined by a guest pianist to perform his energetic sextet for piano and wind quintet, preceded by two of his witty and charming chamber works.
