Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla sees music differently – she loves unexpected connections and inspirational partnerships. Tonight her partners are two real Birmingham favourites, Sheku Kanneh-Mason and the CBSO’s Marie-Christine Zupancic, in a musical kaleidoscope that takes two emotionally-charged English masterpieces, adds the elegance of Haydn and the poetry of Weinberg, and ends up with the unbuttoned celebration of Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. In other words, classic Mirga.
