- Dukas The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, 10′
- Mozart Piano Concerto No. 25, K. 503, 30′
- Rachmaninov Symphonic Dances, 37′
It’s time for a story. Mozart never wrote a more majestic piano concerto than his 25th. Rachmaninov, exiled from Russia, sent a love letter to his own past disguised as three colourful Symphonic Dances. And in Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice you can almost see those dancing broomsticks! Conductor Elim Chan works her magic tonight, while few pianists understand Mozart more profoundly than Jeremy Denk.
