- Verdi Requiem, 83′
Drums thunder, trumpets blast, and a great chorus yells out in terror: Verdi’s Requiem isn’t what you might expect from religious music! But it’s exactly what you’d expect from the grand master of Italian opera – and with the massed CBSO Chorus and four star operatic voices, hold on to your seats as conductor Edward Gardner unleashes his unparalleled sense of theatre – and turns the volume up to eleven.
There will be no interval.
CBSO+ 6.15pm: Members of the CBSO Chorus talk with Edward Gardner about preparing and performing Verdi’s thunderous choral masterpiece.
Members' Reception
Come and join fellow members for a drinks reception before Verdi's Requiem and during the interval.
