When classical composers encounter the number five, something surprising happens – whether it’s the teenage Mozart cutting loose in his most flamboyant violin concerto, or Beethoven shaking his fist at fate in the greatest Fifth Symphony of all time. British composer Adrian Sutton provides the key, and Greek master Nikos Skalkottas provides the rhythm, as the fantastic young players of the CBSO Youth Orchestra Academy take five tonight.
