Join us at the home of the CBSO for an informal afternoon performance, programmed and introduced by CBSO musicians. These concerts give audiences the chance to get closer to the music and experience the artistry of our orchestra members in an intimate setting.

American composers Steve Reich, Robert Muczynski and Lou Harrison were born within a decade of each other and were all breaking musical boundaries in the mid 20th century. Harrison explored both non-Western cultures and microtonal music in his composition and was also a creator of unusual musical instruments. Reich is known as a pioneer for minimalist music, renowned for 'altering the direction of musical history'. His innovations include using tape loops which feature in this programme.

Centre Stage concerts are generously supported by John Osborn CBE.
