CBSO Centre, nestled on Berkley Street - just off Broad Street and a short walk from Symphony Hall - is in every respect the CBSO's home.
At the heart of the building is The Justham Auditorium - a three-storey, 300-seat rehearsal and concert venue. Fully equipped with modern sound, lighting and projection systems, as well as a system of motorized acoustic panels and banners, it's most frequently used as our main rehearsal venue, as well as the auditorium for Notelets and Centre Stage Concerts throughout the season.
To go with the auditorium, the Centre also features ample backstage and loading areas, instrument storage and a number of artist/conductor dressing rooms. There are also three rehearsal studios for smaller ensembles.

The Centre enjoyed a £1.8m refurbishment in 2014, which included an overhaul of the main reception area and canteen facilities, major upgrades to the lighting, seating and acoustics of the auditorium, and other efficiency and aesthetic improvements throughout the building. The Centre was re-opened by HRH The Earl of Wessex on 1 October 2014.
Our offices are situated at the Centre, along the Southern edge of the top floor, encompassing our Finance, Development, Marketing, Learning & Engagement and Concerts Departments. They benefit from full-height windows overlooking the Cube development and the Birmingham Registry Office.
Our friends at Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG) and Ex Cathedra also have their administrative bases at the Centre, in adjacent offices on the second floor.
The building comprises a number of multi-use meeting rooms, our music Library, and not forgetting plenty of outside space to store our touring truck. Our facilities are available to hire when not in use by the orchestra, and we were recently named as one of "3 reasons to bring your conference to Birmingham" by Meet Birmingham.
