CBSO activity during lockdown

Cbso Concert With Social Distancing F3 A8906.

A joint statement from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the music charity responsible for Town Hall and Symphony Hall:

Following the government’s announcement of a new lockdown, the CBSO are delighted to confirm that we will continue to bring music to you direct from Symphony Hall. Our weekly concerts will be filmed for online release only, until we are permitted to welcome our audiences back to Birmingham’s world-renowned concert hall again.

We hope you will join us online each Thursday from 19 November onwards, beginning with another Centenary celebration featuring Sheku Kanneh-Mason and conducted by Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla. This concert will also be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Tuesday 17 November. Click here for upcoming online programmes and to buy tickets.

These digital initiatives have been made possible thanks to major gifts from donors including David and Sandra Burbidge, Chris and Jane Loughran and John Osborn, and also to support from Arts Council England’s Culture Recovery Fund.

We’re sorry to announce that the Live at the Centre series of concerts at the CBSO Centre will be paused throughout this lockdown period.
