Project Remix 2022

The CBSO is looking to recruit around 60 instrumentalists aged 11-18 to take part in Project Remix.

Project Remix is our flagship education programme, bringing together young instrumentalists to perform together on the stage at Symphony Hall in a free concert. Project Remix is open to instrumentalists who are Grade 5 standard or above and participants will be mentored through weekly rehearsals by a team of CBSO musicians before culminating in a live performance at Symphony Hall on Sunday 20th February 2022.

Fusing well-known music with contemporary orchestral arrangements, each year, the project has a musical theme and in previous years the Orchestra has performed the music of Led Zepplin, UB40, Barry Manilow, and BRIT-Nominated CBSO Youth Orchestra alum Laura Mvula. This year we are celebrating and exploring Birmingham’s rich cultural and musical heritage, and the repertoire will include a range of recent releases written and performed by popular South Asian artists.

There is no audition and it is free to take part but musicians need to apply online. Applications close on Wednesday 8 December 2021. To find out more about Project Remix and to apply please visit: https://cbso.co.uk/take-part/young-people/project-remix

Project Remix is supported by HSBC UK.
