Royal Patron attends Mahler Concert

We were delighted to welcome our Patron, His Royal Highness Prince Edward The Earl of Wessex, to last night's Symphony Hall Concert.

His Royal Highness was welcomed by CBSO Chief Executive Stephen Maddock OBE and Town Hall Symphony Hall Chief Executive Nick Reed, before sharing a pre-concert dinner with the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Lithuanian Ambassador and other guests of the CBSO. He then joined a busy Symphony Hall audience to hear the Orchestra's performance of Mahler's Second Symphony.

After the concert His Royal Highness attended a reception, meeting CBSO musicians Gabriel Dyker and David Gregory, chorus master David Lawrence, and soloist Karen Cargill.

The Earl's last CBSO visit was in 2018.
