Travel Disruption - 22 & 25 June 2022

Please note, if you're joining us for Mahler's Resurrection Symphony on Wednesday 22 or Saturday 25 June at Symphony Hall, your journey may be affected by the National Rail strikes.

However, please be assured that the concerts will be going ahead as planned and we've pulled together a handy guide of alternative travel options to get in and out of Birmingham this week. We're also encouraging people to car-share, by giving them an easy way to connect with other audience members on our Facebook page. We anticipate that roads are likely to be busier than usual, so please allow yourself plenty of time to arrive, park and make your way to the hall. The car park nearest to Symphony Hall is Q Park and you can pre book a space on their website here.

Both concerts will last 90 minutes with no interval.

Alternative Travel

We strongly advise that you plan your route in advance and you can find a selection of useful tools below for planning your journey.

West Midlands Journey Planner - use this website to plan journeys within the West Midlands. Remember to de-select trains as an option for travel.

Google Maps - this site can plan journeys from across the UK. Having searched for your destination, you will be given the option to search for directions. Click over into public transport and open the ‘options’ menu to choose buses.

Check My Bus – you may be able to travel by coach service. Visit this site to check availability in your area.

BlaBlaCar - use this website to check for ride shares and bus journeys along your travel route.

If you're traveling to the concert by car and would be willing to give someone else a lift, then please head over to our Facebook page. All you need to do is share the region you're travelling from and the number of seats you have available, and another audience member will be able to get in touch.

Please note, this is an entirely voluntary scheme which is not being run by the CBSO. We simply want to do all we can to ensure our audiences feel able to attend this week's fantastic performances.

If you have any queries, please get in touch with us at or call CBSO Centre on 0121 616 6500.
