Annmarie leads the Finance and HR teams and is also the Company Secretary.
Born in Cardiff, South Wales she went to school in Rugby and studied Economics and Accounting at Sheffield University. In 1981 she qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte in Birmingham.
Before joining the CBSO in 2009 her career was largely in the private sector most recently as a Finance Director with Scholastic Inc and before that Reed Elsevier plc; both internationally renowned publishing companies.
With no formal musical training she was encouraged to join the CBSO after listening to her two daughters, both of whom play musical instruments and her father-in-law a (now retired) amateur conductor. After 6 years with the CBSO her musical education continues ……
In her spare time Annmarie is a keen tennis and bridge player. As an avid follower of the men’s tennis tour holidays often include trips to overseas tournaments. She has been involved in the Birmingham netball scene for many years, both as a player and umpire and continues to support the development of young players in the Kings Heath area.
Alongside her role at the CBSO she sits as a magistrate in the Birmingham courts and enjoys the different challenges that this voluntary post offers.
