Bridget Blow has been the Chair of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra since March 2012. She is also a Director of England Netball
Bridget’s background is in IT and she was a Non-executive Director of the Bank of England from 2000-2005. She was Chief Executive of ITNET plc, an IT and Business Services company from 1994-2005. In 1995 she led a management and employee buyout from Cadbury Schweppes, a full listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1998 and subsequent sale in 2005. From 2007-12 she was Chairman of Harvard International plc and led its recovery and its subsequent sale in 2012 as the first UK listed company to be sold to a Chinese listed company. From 2006 to 2013, she was also Non-executive Chairman of Trustmarque Solutions a software and services business and oversaw the growth, transformation and subsequent sale of the business.
Bridget is a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and was the first female President of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce in 2009. She also chaired the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership Development Board which designed the governance of the current LEP Board and recruited the chair and others business representatives.
In the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours Bridget was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to Business in the West Midlands and the British Chamber of Commerce Movement.
