At heart of the CBSO is a simple purpose: to enrich people’s lives with the world’s greatest music – in the heart of England and around the world.
By making a donation today you can help us with our core aims: to continue to play great music under Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla's vibrant leadership and, through our education and community programmes, to provide opportunities for the whole of society to benefit from the transformative power of music.
“I think the gates of heaven were wide open to hear it and maybe the angels joined in the singing.”
Jenny, audience member, 2019
"We all have much to thank the CBSO for in what the Orchestra provides for the people, the culture and the wider reputation of Birmingham."
Trust funder, 2017
Our programme of Schools' Concerts reach 9,000 school children across the West Midlands, including schools in Birmingham, Worcester, Cheltenham and Derby. This year we aim to open the doors of Symphony Hall to host five Key Stage 1 concerts, two Key Stage 2 concerts, four Key Stage 3 concerts, and four relaxed concerts designed especially for those with special educational needs. These have a truly lasting impact on the pupils who attend and help instil a lifelong love of music.
We are also very proud of our partnership with the Birmingham Music Service which offers every Year 7 child and special school pupil in Birmingham state schools a free ticket.
"What an opportunity for the young people to see the power of a full orchestra in such an amazing setting. My students had never seen an orchestra before, and they loved every minute of it."
KS3 teacher, 2019
