2018-19 Concert Season

From blockbuster, licensed-to-thrill movie music to spectacular symphonies, and from classical concertos to classic pop songs, we’re sure the CBSO's 2018-19 Concert Season offers a musical experience you’ll love. Music Director Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla conducts gorgeous symphonic music by Brahms and Mahler, along with musical feasts from Russian composers Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Tchaikovsky. We’ll welcome Principal Guest Conductor Kazuki Yamada and Artist In Residence Gidon Kremer to the CBSO family, and there’ll be a weekend of musical discovery as we explore the work of Weinberg.

"Have a look at the concerts here – there are old favourites and new discoveries, concerts for the whole family and evenings packed with favourite tunes from cinema and Broadway. We’ve got Elgar and the music of Harry Potter, epic symphonies and intimate chamber music – and one of the best youth orchestras in the world. And we’ll be bringing to Birmingham a Lithuanian musical tradition that’s very special to me – our very own Song Festival. But I promise you this: whenever you choose to join us, and whatever the music, we’ll play with all our hearts. See you at Symphony Hall!"
