CBSO in the City
About our events
A free week-long festival in Birmingham!
For a whole week in August, the CBSO and Music Director Kazuki Yamada will be out and about in Birmingham with a huge range of exciting shows – completely free!
We’ll be filling the city with great music, as we pop up in unexpected locations. From Beethoven and Star Wars in the Bullring and brass quintets in Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens, to dinosaur themed family shows in libraries, string quartets in pubs, a day of open rehearsals at the CBSO Centre, and live music from Kazuki Yamada on the West Midlands Metro. All of our CBSO in the City concerts are free and unticketed*, so no need to book, just come along and enjoy the music.
We’re hugely grateful for the generous support provided by John Osborn CBE and NBB Law which has helped to make these events possible.
* Except for CBSO Chorus at Packington Estate, for which you can buy tickets for £10, and CBSO at the Spotted Dog, for which the venue charges a £5 ticket.
