Catherine Wall

Catherine Wall joined the CBSO Board of Trustees in 2023, bringing extensive experience as an independent chair, non-executive director, investor and business leader. Her career has spanned private equity, investment banking, quoted companies and privately owned businesses, giving her significant expertise in governance, strategy, organisational growth and financial stewardship.
A graduate of the University of Oxford, Catherine developed her career in finance and investment before moving into a portfolio of senior board and advisory roles. She has served as chair and non-executive director for a range of organisations, including listed and private equity-backed companies, and has worked with management teams through periods of change, investment and development.
Catherine also has a long-standing commitment to the charitable and voluntary sectors. Her experience includes supporting organisations through investment oversight, mentoring and governance roles, with a particular interest in helping leaders and boards build sustainable, resilient organisations.
As a CBSO Trustee, Catherine brings commercial insight, board-level experience and a strong understanding of organisational performance. Her contribution supports the Orchestra’s governance, strategic planning and financial sustainability as it continues to serve Birmingham, the West Midlands and audiences beyond.
