Chris Loughran
Trustee and Chair of the CBSO Development TrustChris Loughran joined the Board of the CBSO in 2018 and has served as Chair of the CBSO Development Trust since 2015. Having spent 31 years with the international professional services firm, Deloitte - 25 as a Partner - he retired in 2018 following a successful period as Practice Senior Partner for the Midlands Region, based in Brindleyplace, within easy reach of the CBSO Centre and Symphony Hall.
Having lived in Solihull since 1970, Chris returned to Birmingham in a professional capacity in 2010, since when he has played an active role in a number of our region’s institutions, having served as Deputy Chair of the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership, a Non-Executive Director of the West Midlands Growth Company and as High Sheriff of the West Midlands in 2018-19. He remains a Trustee of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham and President of Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Football Club.
Chris holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Leeds, is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Chartered Information Technology Professional. He has served as a Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands since 2019. He has been married to Jane since 1983 and has six grown-up children.
