Gurpreet Bhatia DL is a solicitor and business leader with more than 30 years’ experience in legal practice. He is a Partner at Harbans Singh & Co Solicitors, where he specialises in commercial and residential property, private immigration and private client work. Throughout his career, he has combined professional expertise with a strong commitment to public service, community engagement and regional development.

A prominent figure within the West Midlands, Gurpreet has held a wide range of leadership and advisory roles across the business, charitable and public sectors. He serves as a Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, supporting the Lord-Lieutenant in representing the Crown across the county, and has worked extensively with organisations focused on community development, education, health and sport.

Gurpreet is deeply committed to building stronger and more inclusive communities. Fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi, he is a passionate advocate for cultural understanding, diversity, faith and social cohesion. A longstanding supporter of the arts and culture, Gurpreet joined the CBSO Board of Trustees and was appointed Deputy Chair of the Board in 2024. In this role he works alongside the Chair, fellow trustees and executive team to support the Orchestra’s strategic ambitions, governance and long-term sustainability.
