Jane is currently HR Director at the NEC Group Ltd. The NEC is the UK’s largest Exhibitions, Conference and Live Events business, based in Birmingham and comprising NEC, Barclaycard and Genting Arenas and The ICC.
Born and educated in Cheshire, Jane has a BA in Music from Bath College and completed her professional qualification in HR at the University of Wolverhampton. She started her career as a restaurant manager with McDonalds before moving into HR, subsequently working with The Automobile Association and Craegmoor Ltd (a private equity company) before joining the NEC in 2011.
She was elected to the CBSO Board in November 2013 and as well as chairing the HR Committee has supported the Board/Executive team in their Employee Engagement work and contributed strongly to HR policy development. As a member of the Nominations Committee she has been actively involved in the recruitment of new Board members. She also chairs the Pensions Governance Committee ensuring that the current pension scheme meets the needs of its members and the orchestra.
Away from the office Jane has a keen interest in music, playing the viola with the Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra, singing Soprano with the Gloucester Choral society and performing in various other ad hoc concerts during the year. She is also a school governor at The Kings College Worcester and a keen follower of Worcestershire County Cricket club.
Jane is married with two teenage children and lives in Worcestershire.
