Support our 2024 Schools’ Concerts Appeal

Here at the CBSO we are actively finding ways better to connect with more communities across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Our Schools’ Concerts are an incredible way to reach young people. However, we could not build these connections without the help of generous individuals like you.

DONATE NOW

This February, we want to welcome 13,000 young people from across the West Midlands into the concert hall, some for the very first time, to hear the CBSO perform live!

Delivering these specially tailored concerts costs over £160,000. Income from ticket sales and generous support from Services for Education covers just over half of this, but we are left with around £90,000 to fundraise through trust and foundations and philanthropic individuals like you.

With your help we will raise £25,000 to continue delivering inspirational music provision to school children across the West Midlands. Give today and your donation will be doubled thanks to generous support from anonymous donors!

Our Schools’ Concerts are designed to inspire children to explore the world of live music. We hope that every child in the West Midlands leaves school with a passion for music.

Each concert is created to complement the musical offer from teachers and music services, as well as being tailored to suit each different stage of education. These concerts take place on an annual basis and are BSL interpreted.

“The concert was a great experience which has ignited musical passions amongst our students!” (Key stage 3 concert)

The CBSO is committed to inspiring a lifelong appreciation of live performance. Enriching lives with music and welcoming the next generation of concert goers are two of the four major priorities that underpin our Sound of the Future fundraising campaign. Our schools’ concerts are central to this vision; they act as a crucial access point to orchestral music in the concert hall.

“Our students were captivated by the music, and thoroughly enjoyed the performance. What an inspiring hour spent in such an incredible venue, with wonderfully talented musicians. Highly recommended!” (Key Stage 3 concert)
