Join us at the home of the CBSO for an informal afternoon performance, programmed and introduced by CBSO musicians. These concerts give audiences the chance to get closer to the music and experience the artistry of our orchestra members in an intimate setting.
"Started by our new Director of Artistic Planning, Catherine Arlidge when she was a member of our second violins, Centre Stage is one of the many things that sets the CBSO apart: a showcase for the incredible breadth of talent and knowledge of my incredible friends and colleagues. This series is a rare opportunity for these fabulous musicians to personally programme the chamber music they are passionate about to share with our audience, in a more intimate setting at the CBSO Centre.
We look forward to welcoming back our warm and loyal regular audience - there is much to both discover and rediscover this season, old favourites alongside lesser-known gems.
If you have never tried a Centre Stage concert before, I encourage you to try one of our upcoming performances. It’s a good opportunity to get to know the musicians better – if you're not sure where to start, here are some suggestions.
For a feel-good concert but with a slightly more adventurous take, try the wind/percussion trio on the Tuesday 3 March 2026.
For a feel-good favourite, Dvorak’s American Quartet on Thursday 14 May 2026.
For a moving all-encompassing experience, try Brahms’ Piano Quartet on Friday 19 June 2026.
I hope you will find something to entice you to join us at the CBSO Centre."
