Centre Stage is the CBSO's series of informal lunchtime chamber music concerts held at our administrative and rehearsal home, CBSO Centre. The first of its kind in the UK, part of what makes the series special is that it is programmed and run entirely by the CBSO musicians themselves. Quartets, trios, quintets and more - all comprised of top-notch CBSO musicians - explore the music that they love in unique and diverse programmes that often feature less-performed works alongside chamber music favourites.
Centre Stage concerts also regularly feature international soloists who are visiting Birmingham for main-season concerto appearances at Symphony Hall. This makes them brilliant opportunities to witness superstar musicians up-close in a relaxed setting, performing in smaller ensembles with CBSO musicians.
- Performance times vary but generally last for approximately 45-50 minutes
- Light lunches are available in the CBSO Centre bar before the concert (1.10pm performances only)
- Tickets are available on the day or in advance, and cost from £10
- Everyone's welcome!
The Osborn Connection
the Centre Stage concert series is named after CBSO donor John Osborn in recognition of his support. Read more about John's donation here...
