The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra is delighted to announce a new partnership with Sofas & Stuff.

The partnership was launched at Sofas & Stuff Sutton Coldfield Showroom with an exclusive string quartet performance by CBSO Musicians Jane Wright, Georgia Hannant, Daichi Yoshimura and Kate Setterfield.

Sofas & Stuff is a family company that designs and manufactures handmade, bespoke British sofas, chairs and beds, offering customers a high level of choice and creativity, from their 23 characterful showrooms and online store. Each made-to-order piece from Sofas & Stuff is individually and authentically designed to suit your lifestyle, enhance your home, and give you comfort for many years to come.

Earlier this week, friends of the CBSO and Sofas & Stuff gathered for their most comfortable musical experience yet! Seated on handmade, luxurious sofas, guests listened to music from Mozart, Bach, Tchaikovsky and more. Guests were invited to browse the fine quality fabrics, including exclusive collections created in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). They also had the opportunity to win two VIP concert tickets to a CBSO concert of their choice.

Claire Tilt, the CBSO’s Director of Development, said “It’s great to be at Sofas & Stuff Sutton Coldfield to launch our new partnership. We pride ourselves on creating exciting musical experiences for the people of Birmingham, the West Midlands and beyond. This is only possible through the generous support of the business community and funders. How fantastic that we could launch our partnership with Sofas & Stuff in luxury and comfort with live music from our superb musicians.”

James Woolley, Sofas & Stuff Sutton Coldfield Showroom Manager, added, “Sofas & Stuff is excited to be newly sponsoring the CBSO. The opportunity to host a CBSO String Quartet performance at Sofas & Stuff Sutton Coldfield enables us to bring outstanding music into the heart of our intimate furniture showroom - exemplifying the art of sitting comfortably. We are delighted to be aligning our premium brand with the CBSO and its rich heritage and hope to continue working together collaboratively in 2024.”
