David BaMaung

Sub-Principal Viola

David studied with Sue Muir, Wen Zhou Li and Jane Atkins. Prior to joining CBSO, he was a member of the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera. David performed as Guest Principal Viola with Welsh National Opera, Opera North, Scottish Opera, Royal Ballet, Canadian National Ballet, English National Ballet and as Guest Co-principal (No 2) with Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, The Hallé and Scottish Ensemble.

David has performed and recorded extensively with London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and English Chamber Orchestra. He is a former member of the Maxwell Quartet.
