We're thrilled to welcome four new appointments to our String section!

Jack Greed

Sub-Principal First Violin

Jack Greed is a UK based violinist who enjoys a busy and varied schedule of orchestral, chamber, and solo playing. Jack will join the CBSO in May for Mirga conducts Mahler's Tenth Symphony, before officially starting his new role in September.

Nathan (Nate) Bomans

Tutti First Violin

Nate is a Canadian violinist living in Japan, he is currently in the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra, and before that he worked as a violinist in the US. He recently worked with us for The Planets, Sounds New and Prokofiev's Fifth Symphony. Nate will join us on 28 May.

Richard Thomas

Tutti Second Violin

Some of you may already know Richard as he worked with us for 6 months in the last year and he most recently worked with us for The Planets in February. Outside of CBSO he been working as Guest Principal Second Violin in the Lapland Chamber Orchestra for their 2023 spring season. Richard joins us on 2 May.

Sarah Malcolm

Tutti Viola

We are delighted that Sarah, who has been on a fixed term contract with us since the beginning of last year, has accepted a permanent tutti position in the viola section!
