Libby was born in Watford and grew up in Surrey, where she took up the violin after the headmaster of her primary school set up an orchestra and needed players. She went on to study with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music.
After two years with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Libby joined the CBSO as Tutti First Violin. Her highlights to-date include touring to South America with Simon Rattle and Andris Nelsons’ final concerts in June 2015, performing with all the CBSO Choruses. She says “the experience was made even more special as I was performing in the same concert as my daughter who is in the CBSO children’s chorus!”
In addition to her work with the CBSO Libby also enjoys chamber music, and regularly performs as part of the Kaleidoscope Ensemble in the Centre Stage series and performing at Secondary schools.
Libby is married with two children, and four cats!
