The CBSO has a family of four choirs; three auditioned symphonic choruses and an un-auditioned community choir.

Catering for all ages and musical tastes these choirs have more than 750 members drawn from as far afield as Yorkshire and Berkshire, and they give over 20 concerts every year. Our Symphonic Choruses – CBSO Chorus, CBSO Youth Chorus and CBSO Children’s Chorus – perform regularly with the CBSO, and are frequently invited to perform with other leading orchestras in the UK, and in the case of the CBSO Chorus, around the world.

The repertoire for the CBSO Choruses is intrinsically linked to the CBSO programme providing a wealth of musical and vocal experiences for singers – from UK premieres to oratorio, opera to resounding symphonies such as Beethoven’s famous 9th Symphony.
